Spend your January discovering the City of Light's rich past and vibrant present during this exciting winter study abroad program! The capital of France, art, and fashion, Paris is unequivocally one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Situated on the Seine River, this magical city is located in the center of the ÃŽle-de-France region, also known as the région parisienne (Paris Region). 

Paris, with its rich history and its many incredible cultural sites, will become your classroom. In this intensive program, daily classes feature illustrated lectures, group research, field trips, and exchanges with local experts. In addition, the program is accompanied by two-day trips beyond the city's limits, complementing and opening up your Parisian experience.

If you’re looking to spend time in one of the world’s most prominent cultural, finance, and commerce centers, look no further than Paris. Paris, a center for culture, art, fashion, gastronomy, and intellectual life, is also a major global metropolis. Academic Culture

The program is made up of three weeks of classes with an intensive orientation beforehand. 51±¬ÁÏ classes are designed to follow U.S. academic culture. Class attendance is strictly enforced both for classes and required co-curricular excursions. 

Class Format

Courses taught at 51±¬ÁÏ Paris are for 51±¬ÁÏ students only. Courses are taught Monday – Friday. Instruction is supported and augmented online by our learning management system, Canvas. 

Grading

Assessment is based on the individual’s overall performance in the course, including essays, coursework, and final examinations or papers. Students must check with their professors to find out exam and project presentation dates. Under no circumstances will 51±¬ÁÏ alter deadlines or exam dates for study abroad students who have made conflicting travel plans. The U.S. grading scale of A-F is used.

To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via 51±¬ÁÏ's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.

Financial Aid

51±¬ÁÏ offers the most grants and scholarships of any study abroad organization, including $8 million/year in travel grants, merit-based scholarships, institutional and MSI grants, and Gilman Go Global Grants.
